Taipei--CPC Corp, Taiwan (CPC) Chairman Chen Chin-de (???) offered to resign Friday to assume responsibility for a nationwide blackout earlier this week, according to the state-owned fuel supplier.
He will hold a press conference at around noon to explain his decision, the company said.
Chen has been widely criticized since Tuesday afternoon when a disruption in the CPC's natural gas supply caused a power outage that affected more than 6.68 million households, factories and businesses in 17 cities and counties across Taiwan.
