3.9-magnitude earthquake strikes off Yilan

Taipei--A 3.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in waters off Yilan County in eastern Taiwan at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

The epicenter of the temblor, which struck at a depth of 24.1 kilometers, was located 41.1 km south of the Yilan County government building hall.

The earthquake had an intensity of four in Nan'ao, while it measured one in Heping in neighboring Hualien County.
