A nationwide census on the country's industrial and service sectors will take place from April 15 to June 15. That's the word from the head of the government statistics office, Chu Tzer-ming on Tuesday.
Chu said the census will reflect on the current situation of the economy and help draft policy. Chu said the information will not be used for other purposes, such as tax, and urged the public to help with the survey.
Chu said about 11,000 staffers will be mobilized to collect information on over 1.3 million companies across the nation. This includes the company's basic information, payroll, business digitization, R&D and e-commerce. The survey will also include numbers of dispatch workers, cloud computing, data analyses, online transactions and overseas investments.
