Taipei, A smart education expo and summit dubbed Future E2D (Eliminate the Digital Divide) will be held in tandem with the 2018 Smart City Summit & Expo at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center at the end of this month, the Institute for Information Industry (III) said Monday.
Future E2D will focus on smart education and gather up to 100 experts from Taiwan and abroad to discuss 10 major topics, including national education, tertiary education, skill training and youth entrepreneurship, the III said.
At the show, the institute expects to sign an agreement with the Indonesian Ministry of Education to set up a smart technology demonstration classroom and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jordan on cooperation in the field.
It also plans to ink a cooperative MOU with Indonesia's largest Islamic group to jointly establish 12,000 smart technology demonstration classrooms in the country.
The Smart City Summit & Expo will feature 210 exhibitors this year, according to the Taipei Computer Association, the event's organizer.
It said 63 professional seminars will be held during this year's event March 27-30, up 30 percent from last year, and the expo is expected to attract 30,000 professionals from home and abroad.
