Former President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) will leave for a visit to Malaysia on Tuesday, according to Ma’s office.
Upon arriving in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur aboard a China Airlines flight, Ma will proceed to Southern University College in Johor, a state in southern Malaysia, where he will give a speech later that day, his office said.
On Wednesday, the former president will visit some historical spots previously visited by Republic of China founding father Sun Yat-sen before going to the southern state of Melaka, where he will attend the 8th World Chinese Economic Summit on Thursday.
Ma will also help promote the “New Southbound Policy” broached by President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), who took over the presidency from Ma in May this year, his office said.
He is slated to return to Taiwan on Friday, also aboard a China Airlines flight.
