Taipei, A decapitated, dismembered corpse was discovered on a riverbank under the Zhongzheng Bridge in New Taipei's Yonghe District Wednesday, believed to be that of a Canadian national, city police said that day.
After a preliminary investigation, police suspected that the deceased was a 29-year-old Canadian man who had been teaching English.
At around 1 p.m., the headless, limbless corpse was discovered on a riverbank near the baseball field in Zhongzheng Park. Police were still searching for the other body parts.
Police were alerted by the man's friends after they were unable to contact him, according to police, who said their investigation is continuing.
