Taipei--A magnitude 4 earthquake jolted southern Taiwan's Tainan City at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
The epicenter of the temblor, which struck at a depth of 5 kilometers, was located 50.3 km northeast of city hall, the bureau data showed.
The earthquake had an intensity of three in Tainan City's Nansi District, Kaohsiung City's Chiahsien District and Chiayi County's Tapu, while it measured one in Chiayi City, Tainan City, Yunlin County's Chaoling, Pingtung County's Shandimen and Nantou County's Mingjian.
No casualties have been reported so far.
