As northeast seasonal winds weaken Saturday, the temperature will rebound but the mercury could dip to as low as 15 degrees Celsius next week in northern Taiwan, weather expert Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) said on Saturday.
The weather will improve from Saturday and there will be less rain. In the daytime, the temperature could rise to between 24-25 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan and between 28-30 degrees in central and southern Taiwan.
Between Dec. 4-5, there remains a chance of partial rain in northeastern and eastern Taiwan, while the weather will be fair in other places. The mercury could rise to over 27 degrees in the daytime in northern Taiwan and about 30 degrees in central and southern areas, although it will drop by more than 10 degrees in the morning and evening.
A new wave of northeast seasonal winds will arrive on Dec. 6 and impact Taiwan until Dec. 10, Wu forecast.
The first cold front will send temperatures down to between 16-17 degrees in northern Taiwan from Dec.6. The second front will arrive on Dec. 7, sending the mercury down to 15 degrees in northern Taiwan.
The third cold front will arrive on Dec. 9-10, ensuring temperatures remain about 15 degrees Celsius.
