Rain is expected across Taiwan during the upcoming three-day National Day weekend, the result of moisture brought by Tropical Storm Aere and an approaching front, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said on Friday.
Although Aere is moving away from Taiwan, its peripheral current will continue to impact weather across the nation on Saturday, bringing showers or thunderstorms to eastern areas, brief showers in the north and south and occasional rain everywhere else, the bureau said.
On Sunday and Monday, parts of the north and east could experience heavy rainfall as the first cool front of the autumn moves into Taiwan, according to the CWB.
Occasional rain may also occur in central and southern areas, the bureau added.
During those two days, strengthening northeast winds are expected to bring down the temperature in northern Taiwan, with a day-time high of 27 degrees Celsius, dropping to between 22 and 23 degrees at night, the bureau said.
