The Taiwan Association of Information and Communication Standards (TAICS) said Wednesday that it has signed a cooperation agreement with an organization that develops standards for the European Union’s ICT industry.
The agreement was signed with ETSI in France on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by TAICS.
Under the agreement, Taiwan will gain immediate access to information pertaining to the latest developments in ETSI industrial standards and the European Union’s telecommunications industry, the TAICS said.
In addition, it said, the two parties will be able to reference each other’s technological standards and will jointly participate in the technical exchanges and activities related to setting standards.
With the new agreement, TAICS said, it has linked domestic industries with international standards organizations and established an important platform for collaboration.
“This accomplishment is expected to help Taiwanese companies engage in international cooperation and comply with international standards,” TAICS said.
