Taiwan fails to keep OEC Taipei WTA Challenger titles at home

Taiwanese tennis player Chang Kai-chen (張凱貞) lost to Russian players both in the finals of singles and doubles events at the OEC Taipei WTA Challenger that concluded on Sunday.

Chang tied with Rodina 3-3 before conceding the first set 4-6 and losing the second 3-6.

Chang then returned to the court alongside her compatriot Chuang Chia-jung (莊佳容), where they faced Natela Dzalamidze and Veronika Kudermetova in the doubles final of the tournament, which carries a total purse of US$125,000.

The Taiwanese duo took an early 2-0 lead over the Russian pair in the first set before taking the set 6-4.

However, they conceded to the Russians 3-6 in the second set, and 5-10 in the tiebreaker, to yield their doubles title.
