Taipei--The weather in Taiwan will cool down slightly over the next few days as two new fronts arrive successively, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Monday.
On Monday, it will remain hot due to warm air brought by southeasterly winds, with maximum temperatures likely to reach 34 degrees Celsius in the western half of Taiwan, the bureau said.
A weak front, however, will affect Taiwan on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing temperatures down in northern Taiwan by 3-5 degrees, the bureau said.
The chance of rain will also increase in the northern and eastern regions as well as in mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan, according to the CWB.
Starting Thursday, temperatures in northern Taiwan are likely to drop more sharply as another front arrives and northeasterly winds strengthen, the bureau said.
