Taiwan weightlifter wins bronze medal at World Championships

Taiwan’s Olympic bronze medalist Chen Wen-huei (???) won a bronze medal at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships on Sunday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Chen won a bronze in the snatch event for the IWF women’s 64-kilogram class, where her best attempt was 97 kg.

The snatch requires an athlete to lift a weighted bar from the floor to above the head in one movement.

Following her bronze, Chen will be attempting to win another medal in the clean and jerk event, which requires the athlete to first bring the bar up to her chest before jerking it overhead.

After the clean and jerk event, Chen could also bag one more medal if the weight of her combined lifts in the two events finishes in the top three for all competitors in the class.
