Temperatures in northern Taiwan will begin to fall Sunday afternoon, and occasional rain can be expected in some areas, weather forecaster Wu Der-rong (???) said Saturday.
Wu said the weather would remain warm on Saturday, although it would cool off somewhat in the evening, with daytime highs at 25-28 degrees Celsius in western Taiwan, and 24-27 degrees in eastern Taiwan.
However, on Sunday a strong cold front will approach Taiwan, bringing lower temperatures, but it will weaken as it moves southward, Wu said.
From Monday night into Tuesday morning, lows of 15-16 degrees can be expected in Taipei, while the mercury will drop to 14 degrees in coastal areas of northern Taiwan, he said.
Some parts of northern Taiwan will also see overcast conditions and occasional rain, starting Sunday afternoon, Wu forecast.
The cold front will begin to weaken on Tuesday, but more rain can be expected Wednesday, and temperatures will begin to rise again by Thursday, he said.
