Two Indonesian laborers working at the Suhua Improvement Engineering Office might have gone missing during Typhoon Megi, the office in Suao, Yilan County, said Saturday.
The office said that work on a construction site was suspended when Typhoon Megi approached Taiwan Sept. 27, and foreign laborers were settled in a dormitory. But two Indonesian laborers were unaccounted for the following day. A cement mixer also went missing.
Presuming that the laborers had absconded, the office called police.
On Sept. 29, however, the missing vehicle was found in a river in nearby Nanao, but the Indonesian laborers were not found.
Police were still investigating the matter.
