The foreign ministry says the United States has already briefed Taiwan on US President Donald Trump's meeting with President Xi Jinping of China. That's the word from foreign ministry spokesperson Eleanor Wang on Tuesday.
The leaders of the world's two largest economies met for the first time at Trump's resort in Florida last week.
Wang said the US and Taiwan sides engaged in an extensive exchange of views during the briefing in Washington, DC on Monday, local time.
Wang said it has long been a practice to brief Tawan. However, she declined to comment on which US official had given the briefing. She said only that it was an official with a very appropriate level.
The foreign ministry said Taiwan is happy to see dialogue that helps regional peace and stability and looks forward to cooperation with all parties involved.
