Taipei--Water supplies will be suspended for 12 hours from midnight Tuesday in parts of New Taipei, the Taiwan Water Corp. (TWC) announced that day.
The water suspension is necessary to accommodate the foundation of a new underground cable by Taiwan Power Co. (??).
Areas to be affected will cover Yingge and Shulin, and parts of Xinzhuang, Taishan and Sanxia districts, the TWC said, adding that the cutoff will affect 180,000 households.
People in affected areas are advised to shut down their water pumps to prevent them from overheating.
