Taipei--Taiwan will see mostly hot weather from Wednesday through Sunday, except for brief showers and thunderstorms in mountainous parts of the country, according to meteorologist Wu Der-rong (???).
Wu cautioned, however, that a weather front expected to hover over northern Taiwan starting on June 14 could bring more heavy rainfall to the island, following torrential rains this past weekend.
Temperatures in western Taiwan could run as high as 34 or 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in some areas, Wu said.
The weather pattern will be even more stable Friday through Sunday, Wu said, but there will be showers in some parts of southwestern Taiwan starting on Monday.
The strength of southwesterly winds will pick up on Tuesday, Wu said, bringing rain to areas that face the winds, especially in mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan.
