Taipei--Wi-Fi Internet services are expected to be available on all the trains on the high speed rail line in June, in an effort to address a major complaint from passengers, Chunghwa Telecom Co. (????) said Friday.
Chunghwa President Hsieh Chi-mao (???) said the plan to provide Wi-Fi services in both the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line and the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. (THSRC) has already been fulfilled in the former, while the bullet train could enjoy the same service in June.
Meanwhile, passengers can use their own 4G Internet service more smoothly during their journeys, as local telecom providers are enhancing network stability, especially in the tunnels on the northern section of the line.
That way, both stable 4G and Wi-Fi connections will be available in time for the 2017 Universiade, a major international sports event to be held in Taipei in August.
