14-year-old girl victim of bus fire improves

The Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health has reported that the condition of the 14-year-old girl who was the victim of the school bus fire has improved. She is able to eat and the burn wounds on both arms have improved. Statement from the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Department of Medical Services, regarding a 14-year-old female patient who was involved in a fire on a school bus (Issue 3) Following the incident of a 14-year-old Thai female patient who was injured in a school bus trip incident involving students from Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School in Uthai Thani Province, which caught fire on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road inbound on October 1, 2024, and was admitted to the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Department of Medical Services. From the treatment examination on October 5, 2024, overall general symptoms improved, no fever, able to eat, burn wounds on both arms improved, no infection was found. The rehabilitation medicine team practiced breathing exercis es, moving the shoulder and arm joints to prevent stiffness. From the results of the mental assessment, the patient was able to do various activities to relax and manage emotions better, and was able to get a good night's sleep. The psychiatric team will continue to assess the mental health of the patient and family members and monitor their symptoms periodically. The treatment results were satisfactory to the medical team.
