Baseball/2026 Asian U18 Baseball Championship Final to Be Held at Taipei Dome

Taipei: The championship game of the 2026 BFA U18 Baseball Championship will be played at the Taipei Dome, marking the first time the venue will host an international U18-level baseball tournament, as announced by the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA). According to Focus Taiwan, the 14th edition of the tournament will begin next Monday and run until September 13, with eight Asian teams competing for both the continental title and qualification for the 2027 U18 Baseball World Cup. The opening-round games are set to take place at Tianmu Baseball Stadium and Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium before the action moves to the Taipei Dome for the Super Round, third-place game, and final. Taiwan aims to defend its title on home ground, having previously defeated Japan 6-1 in the 2024 final, securing their first championship win in 17 years. This victory marked Taiwan's third Asian U18 title, and this year's team is striving for its first consecutive championships and fourth title overall. Yang Hsiao-cheng, the he ad coach of Ku Pao Home Economics and Commercial High School, will lead the 18-player roster as manager. For many players, reaching the final stage would mean experiencing the approximately 40,000-seat indoor stadium for the first time. To enhance the tournament's visibility, the Taipei Dome complex's exterior wall will display rotating images of players' jersey numbers and event graphics daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fans are encouraged to capture photographs at the venue and share them on social media using designated hashtags for an opportunity to win a jersey signed by the entire Taiwan squad.
