Computex Taipei opens on Tuesday

Asia's largest computer show -- Computex Taipei � is set to open on Tuesday at Taipei's World Trade Center. The show, which is specially geared toward industry professionals and buyers, will run through Saturday, June 3.

Taiwan External Trade Development Council Secretary-General Walter Yeh explains the main themes of this year's show.

Computex is repositioned to build global technology ecosystems. This year, Computex's five main themes are: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Internet of Things applications, Innovation and Startups, Gaming and VR, and Business Solutions," said Yeh.

Highlights include the InnoVEX area featuring global innovations and the SmarTEX area which features five major IoT applications. People can also check out the newest Gaming & VR products and the iStyle exhibit which features stylish Apple-accredited products.

This year's Computex will feature 1,600 companies with over 5,000 booths. The InnoVEX area will showcase exhibits from 23 countries, including South Korea, France, China, the US, India, and Taiwan.

Computex and the National Palace Museum are also teaming up for the first time to allow visitors to use VR to enjoy modern Asian art.
