Taipei--Cool and wet weather is forecast for the following week across Taiwan as the island is impacted by weather fronts and seasonal northeasterly winds, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Wednesday.
On Wednesday, cool weather is expected in northern, northeastern and eastern Taiwan, while there could be brief showers or thunderstorms around the country, the bureau said.
Showers are expected to continue in western Taiwan on Thursday and Friday as clouds and rain from southern China move east, according to the bureau.
On Saturday, brief showers are likely in northern and eastern Taiwan and mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan, while other areas of the country will see cloudy skies, it said.
From Sunday to Monday, brief showers are forecast for eastern Taiwan, with cloudy to sunny skies in other areas, the bureau said.
With the arrival of another weather front and the strengthening of northeasterly winds, the weather in northern and northeastern areas could turn cooler on Tuesday, with showers likely in the north, east and mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan, the CWB said.
