Taipei: Financial Holding Co. paid the highest compensation to its board members among companies listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in 2024, with contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) ranking third, according to TWSE data. According to Focus Taiwan, the data released showed that CTBC Financial paid an average of NT$95.73 million in board member compensation in 2024. This figure was ahead of multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) maker Yageo Corp., which paid NT$78.25 million, and TSMC, which paid NT$50.72 million. Despite paying the highest board compensation, CTBC Financial posted earnings per share (EPS) of NT$3.64 in 2024, substantially lower than Yageo's NT$38.13 and TSMC's NT$45.25. KGI Financial Holding Co. ranked fourth, compensating its board members an average of NT$50.23 million in 2024, followed by Yuanta Financial Holding Co. at NT$44.33 million, as reported by the TWSE. Rounding out the top 10 for board compensation on the TWSE were smartphone camera lens supp lier Largan Precision Co., Fubon Financial Holding Co., Hotai Motor Co., TS Financial Holding Co., and Taichung Bank, with average compensation ranging from NT$30 million to NT$40 million. On the over-the-counter market, engineering system integration services provider Acter Co. led with the highest average board compensation of NT$15.59 million in 2024. It was followed by gaming software developer International Games System Co. at NT$15.42 million and Yuanta Futures Co. at NT$4.91 million.
