Daegu FC forward Cesinha was voted the South Korean football league's top player for September on Thursday. The Korea Professional Football League (K League) said Cesinha held off three other candidates for the Player of the Month award for September in the top-flight K League 1. In the four matches last month, Cesinha scored three times for Daegu and was named to the Team of the Week twice. This is Cesinha's sixth Player of the Month award, more than any other player in the K League 1. For the season, Cesinha has 11 goals and seven assists, and his 18 goal involvements put him in second place overall. The winner was chosen based on votes by the K League's technical study group (accounting for 60 percent), fans voting on the K League website (25 percent) and players of EA Sports FC Online (15 percent) by Electronic Arts (EA) Sports, the league's official video game partner. Cesinha came out on top in all three categories, earning 21.6 percent of support from the K League group, 14.98 percent from fans and 11.32 percent from EA Sports game players.
