Director of the Budget Bureau reiterates that the new government will distribute 10,000 baht in digital money in September to vulnerable groups immediately. He pointed out that if the name of the digital wallet project is changed, it will not affect the budget usage because it is within the purpose of using the money to stimulate the economy. Mr. Chalermpol Pensuth, Director of the Budget Bureau, mentioned the case where Mr. Phao Phumirotchanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, stated that the distribution of 10,000 baht in digital wallets will be carried out to vulnerable groups this September. He said that if the project name is changed, it will not affect the digital wallet project because it is already part of the objective of stimulating the economy. However, the change of the name of the digital wallet project depends on the government's policy that will be announced to the parliament. However, in the past, the government has written in the central budget that the objective is to stimulate the economy. Therefore, when a new cabinet is formed and a policy statement is made to the parliament, the 2024 central budget of 122 billion baht can be used to distribute money immediately in September without any problems. It can be used because it has already been registered and the 2024 central budget that has been approved by the parliament can be used immediately. At the same time, we have to wait for the 2025 budget to be used in the economic stimulus project. Source: Thai News Agency
