GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., said Monday its vehicle sales rose nearly 17 percent in February from a year earlier thanks to strong demand from both home and abroad. GM Korea sold 30,630 vehicles last month, up 16.9 percent from 26,191 units from a year ago on increased domestic sales and overseas shipments of SUVs, the company said in a statement. Domestic sales jumped 77.9 percent on-year to 1,987 units last month, while exports also climbed 14.2 percent to 28,643 units. According to the company, its Trax Crossover compact SUV model in particular was in high demand, having sold 16,278 units, more than doubling its sales from last year. Source: Yonhap News Agency
