Highs of 34°C Expected Monday in Parts of Taiwan

Taipei: The temperature in some areas of western Taiwan is likely to hit 34 degrees Celsius on Monday, with sunny skies prevailing across the country, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).

According to Focus Taiwan, as northeasterly winds weaken, the weather across Taiwan will warm up Monday, increasing by about 1-2 degrees from a day earlier. The CWA forecasts highs of 31-32 degrees throughout the western region and 27-29 degrees in the eastern parts. In mountainous areas of western Taiwan, the mercury might rise to 34 degrees. Overnight, temperatures across Taiwan are expected to drop to 20-22 degrees.

Sunny skies are predicted to dominate most parts of the country on Monday, although some brief afternoon showers may occur in mountainous regions and on the Hengchun Peninsula in the south. The moisture is projected to increase on Tuesday, but daytime temperatures will slightly rise to 32-33 degrees in the west and around 29 degrees in the east.

By Wednesday, a frontal system is anticipated to approach, potentially destabilizing weather conditions to some extent. This front is expected to strengthen further on Thursday. According to independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong, the weather front may bring thunderstorms and lower temperatures to northern Taiwan.

However, by Friday, conditions are expected to stabilize once again, with temperatures rising and only some afternoon showers predicted in mountainous areas.
