Keelung-Ishigaki Ferry to Begin Ticket Sales Soon

Keelung: Tickets for a ferry service between Keelung City and Ishigaki Island are set to go on sale "within a month at the soonest," according to Wagon Group's General Manager Hung Yu-hang. This announcement comes in anticipation of the route's planned launch in September, marking a new travel option between Taiwan and Japan.

According to Focus Taiwan, Hung revealed that the one-way ticket prices for the ferry service will vary based on cabin class. He suggested that a ticket price "something close to NT$3,000 (US$100) sounds about right." The ferry, named Yaima Maru, is designed to accommodate 545 passengers and is expected to operate overnight voyages, allowing travelers the convenience of sleeping onboard and arriving at their destination the following morning.

Ticket sales will be managed through partner travel agencies and an online booking system once the pricing details are finalized. Hung also mentioned that travelers will have the option to purchase individual ferry tickets or opt for package deals that include hotel stays or complete itineraries, providing flexibility and convenience for different types of travelers.
