The Mekong-Japan Foreign Ministers' Meeting endorsed a five-year cooperation framework strategy to support digital transformation. Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 15th Mekong-Japan Cooperation (MJ) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Vientiane. The meeting endorsed the Mekong-Japan Cooperation Strategy 2024, which will set a 5-year framework for cooperation in three pillars: a resilient and interconnected society in a post-COVID world; digital transformation; and proactive response to new security issues. The meeting also discussed ways to implement the strategy and promote closer cooperation. Mr. Maris stressed the importance of Japan's participation in supporting development projects in the Mekong subregion in areas of Japan's expertise, and expressed Thailand's commitment to implementing the strategy and strengthening the partnership between the Department of International Cooperation and the Japan International Cooperation Agency to develop the cooperation framework towards a comprehensive, resilient and prosperous Mekong subregion.-312.-Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
