The Meteorological Department revealed that the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand is moderate, coupled with the tropical storm 'Phra Pirun' covering the upper South China Sea and Hainan Island. This will cause heavy rain in some areas of the North and the Northeast, with very heavy rain in some areas of the East. People in these areas should be careful of the dangers of heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides near waterways and lowlands. The waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are moderate, with the upper Andaman Sea having waves approximately 2 meters high, while the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand have waves 1-2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves a re higher than 2 meters. Sailors in these areas should sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. In addition, the tropical storm 'Phrapirun' is covering the upper South China Sea and Hainan Island, China. It is expected to make landfall in southern China during July 22-23, 2024. This storm will not directly affect the weather in Thailand.
