Bananas change the life of a 25-year-old man who opened a papaya salad shop and added banana salad to the menu, which is selling like hotcakes. Somtam Kluai Tani shop in Nong Naen Subdistrict, Phanom Sarakham District, Chachoengsao Province is currently creating a buzz. It is a small shop owned by Mr. Chanakan (Nong On) Khrueathong, aged 25. He is chopping raw bananas, namely Kluai Tani bananas, and putting them in a mortar to pound into a banana salad. Some customers come to order and then sit down to eat, while others park their motorcycles and wait in front of the shop. Many of them look very delicious. Nong On said that she had been selling somtam for 5 years, but during the Covid period, sales dropped and she couldn't sell, so she stopped for almost a year. She turned to working in a factory to make ends meet, but it was bad because there wasn't much work and overtime was reduced. Finally, she consulted with her mother and opened the somtam shop again. She used the space in front of her house to open a somtam slot shop under this name because she had stopped playing slot games and focused on making money to help her mother ease the burden of paying for the house and sending one younger sibling to school. Since Ban Pak Huai, Nong Naen Subdistrict is a large community, there is no som tam restaurant that uses wild bananas, so we tried using wild bananas to make som tam, which customers love. The fish sauce that the restaurant makes itself is a special recipe. Another menu that customers really like is the spicy som tam lao, which is so spicy that you have to order more.
