Taipei: Children under the age of 12 who hold Taipei Digital Student Cards or New Taipei Children’s Cards can ride local metro systems for free from April 3 to April 6 to mark Children’s Day, Taipei Rapid Transit Corp. said Tuesday. During the same period, all Taiwanese children under 12 will have free access to the Maokong Gondola, Taipei Children’s Amusement Park, and Taipei Arena Ice Land, which are operated by the company’s subsidiary, Taipei Metro Recreation, the company said in a news release.
According to Focus Taiwan, one accompanying parent will receive free admission to the amusement park, although skate and protective gear rentals at Ice Land will still incur charges. Taipei Metro Recreation announced that the amusement park will extend its operating hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. during this period, offering activities such as adventure challenges and raffles.
On Children’s Day, April 4, the park will feature a 40-second fireworks show at 8 p.m. The holiday weekend encompasses both Children’s Day and Tomb-Sweeping Day on April 5, providing a festive occasion for families to enjoy the attractions together.
