Taipei:The PHILATAIPEI 2026 World Stamp Championship Exhibition will take place in November in Taipei, celebrating the 130th anniversary of Chunghwa Post, Taiwan's state-owned postal service. This six-day event will be organized by Chunghwa Post alongside Taiwan's Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation (CTPF).
According to Focus Taiwan, the exhibition is sanctioned by the International Philatelic Federation (FIP) and will feature approximately 100 booths for postal organizations, stamp collectors, traders, and publications from around the world. It is expected to attract representatives from over 90 countries and regions.
CTPF Honorary Chairman Chen Yu-an mentioned that the exhibition will emphasize innovation and sustainability. It will showcase about 2,000 frames of stamps, covering diverse subjects, from history to pop culture. Chunghwa Post will also organize special themed days to engage a broad audience. On the event's opening day, November 20, a "postal day" will feature commemorative stamps celebrating the exhibition. Other themed days include "arts and literature day" with stamps inspired by Taiwan's National Palace Museum artifacts, and "collectors day" focusing on stamps related to the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Historical stamps will also be highlighted to educate attendees. Ho Huei-ching, President of the Philatelic Writers' Club, noted that visitors will have the opportunity to view stamps issued by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV), which contain political propaganda from the Vietnam War era, offering a unique historical perspective.
The exhibition will run from November 20 to 25, and organizers invite all interested visitors and philatelists to attend the free event.
