Police receive 2 reports over N. Korea’s trash-filled balloons

Police said Sunday they have received two reports related to North Korea's latest launch of trash-filled balloons, but there has been no reported damage or abnormality. North Korea sent balloons presumed to be carrying trash toward South Korea again Saturday, according to South Korea's military, marking the resumption of its balloon campaign after more than two weeks. Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police Agency said it had received two reports related to the balloons as of 5 a.m., but will not disclose where they were found on concerns that the North could use the information. North Korea has launched more than 3,600 trash balloons since May 28 in a tit-for-tat move against balloons carrying anti-Pyongyang leaflets flown by North Korean defectors in South Korea. In response to the North's campaign, South Korea has been conducting full-scale anti-Pyongyang propaganda broadcasts daily through its border loudspeakers since mid-July. Source: Yonhap News Agency
