Queen Joins Marathon in Bangkok to Promote Tourism.

Bangkok: Her Majesty the Queen participated in the running activity in the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024. According to Thai News Agency, this morning, Her Majesty the Queen attended a 10-kilometer running event in the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024 at the starting point, Sanam Luang, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. The event marked the 7th World Tourism Marathon Competition, known as 'Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok Presented by Toyota' or 'Run Through the City'. Eliud Kipchoge, a world marathon legend and two-time Olympic gold medalist from Kenya, also participated in the event. Her Majesty the Queen took Mr. Eliud Kipchoge to admire the beauty inside the Grand Palace and visit important places around Bangkok. On 28 November 2024, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen graciously granted an audience to Mr. Eliud Kipchoge at Amphorn Sathan Throne Hall, Dusit Palace. Eliud Kipchoge is recognized not only for his athletic achievements but also as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Et hics and Values in Sport. He holds the world record for the first sub-2-hour marathon and secured gold medals in long-distance running at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
