Samsung Biologics Co. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net income of 318 billion won (US$229.8 million), up 72 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that operating income for the April-June period rose 71.4 percent on-year to 434.5 billion won. Revenue increased 33.6 percent to 1.15 trillion won. The operating profit was 46.0 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
