Government House, Cabinet approves small cars with petrol engines to support EURO 4 standards moving to EURO 6 starting 1 January 2025. Mrs. Ratklao Intawong Suwannakiri, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the Cabinet meeting approved the draft ministerial regulation, specifying that small automobile industry products use oil and use spark-activated cylinder-type engines for safety, with engine pollutants at level 10, EURO 4 standard, according to TIS 2540-2554, adding the enforcement of air pollution emission standards equivalent to EURO 6, supporting the action plan to drive the national agenda 'Solving the problem of particulate pollution' and controlling the emission of pollution from the source. By using the legal mechanism to supervise and raise the standards of air pollution from vehicles to be in line with international standards (EURO 6) and to develop the potential of the automotive industry in Thailand to have higher potential. Manufacturers and importers of small car industrial produ cts using spark ignition engines must apply for a license to manufacture or import such industrial products, and distributors must distribute such industrial products, must obtain a license and comply with the standards. The draft of the said Ministerial Regulation will be effective from January 1, 2025 onwards. In addition, the Cabinet has approved two more ministerial regulations: a draft ministerial regulation stipulating that flat steel industrial products coated with 55% aluminum mixed with zinc by the hot dip method must comply with the B.E. ... standard; and a draft ministerial regulation stipulating that cold-rolled flat steel industrial products coated with zinc by the hot dip method must comply with the B.E. ... standard.
