Mr. Wirit Amrapal, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, revealed that due to the flood situation in many areas of Chiang Mai Province, the State Railway of Thailand has to temporarily change the service originating station from Chiang Mai Station to Nakhon Lampang Station to ensure the safety of passengers, a total of 12 trains, from October 5, 2024 onwards until the situation improves, as follows: 1. Special Express Train No. 7/8 Bangkok Apiwat-Chiang Mai- Bangkok Apiwat has been changed to Bangkok Apiwat-Lampang-Bangkok Apiwat 2. Special Express Train No. 9/10 Bangkok Apiwat-Chiang Mai-Bangkok Apiwat has been changed to Bangkok Apiwat-Lampang-Bangkok Apiwat 3. Special Express Train No. 13/14 Bangkok Apiwat-Chiang Mai-Bangkok Apiwat has been changed to Bangkok Apiwat-Lampang-Bangkok Apiwat 4. Express train number 51/52 Krungthep Aphiwat-Chiang Mai-Krungthep Aphiwat has been changed to Krungthep Aphiwat-Lampang-Krungthep Aphiwat 5. Rapid train number 109/102 Krungthep Aphiwat-Chiang Mai-Krungthep Aphiwat has been changed to Krungthep Aphiwat-Lampang-Krungthep Aphiwat 6. Local train number 407/408 Nakhon Sawan-Chiang Mai-Nakhon Sawan has been changed to Nakhon Sawan-Lampang-Nakhon Sawan Mr. Wirit further revealed that during the adjustment of origin and destination stations for 12 northern trains, the State Railway of Thailand received a policy emphasizing safety in using the route from Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tr ansport. Therefore, passenger cars were arranged between Nakhon Lampang Station to Lamphun Station and Chiang Mai Provincial Police Station to facilitate the pick-up and drop-off of passengers to their destinations safely. He also instructed the State Railway of Thailand staff to arrange waiting areas and various facilities for passengers, including closely monitoring the flood situation 24 hours a day to monitor and resolve the situation promptly. If the water level decreases, urgently inspect the condition of the road and signaling system to ensure the safety of passengers traveling.
