Stable Weather Expected in Taiwan with Localized Showers in Some Regions

Taipei:Taiwan is anticipated to experience mostly stable weather over the upcoming weekend. However, certain areas in northern and eastern Taiwan might encounter localized showers, as reported by the Central Weather Administration (CWA).

According to Focus Taiwan, seasonal northeasterly winds are predicted to intensify slightly later on Friday. These winds are expected to bring scattered showers to the northern coast of Taiwan, eastern regions, and the Hengchun Peninsula in the south.

The seasonal wind system is projected to weaken by Saturday, though there remains a possibility of rain in parts of northern and eastern Taiwan. Most areas in Taiwan are expected to witness cloudy to sunny skies on Sunday, with only isolated showers anticipated in eastern Taiwan and the Hengchun Peninsula.

Regarding temperatures, the CWA indicated that northern Taiwan, along with Yilan and Hualien counties in the east, might experience slightly cooler weather on Friday, with highs ranging from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.

Independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong noted that temperatures are likely to increase by a few degrees on Sunday, resulting in a significant day-night temperature gap and occasional localized showers possible in eastern Taiwan. Cooler weather is expected to return to northern Taiwan starting next week through Tuesday as another seasonal wind system moves south over the island, before weakening again by Wednesday and Thursday.

In terms of Typhoon In-fa, Wu stated that the storm, currently located northeast of Guam, is expected to slow and change direction before resuming a westward track early next week. The path and potential impact of Typhoon In-fa on Taiwan remain uncertain at this time.
