Strong Winds and Increasing Temperatures Expected in Taiwan Before Weekend Weather Shift

Taiwan: Temperatures are expected to rise across Taiwan on Thursday before a weather front brings rain and thunderstorms on Friday, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) has forecast. According to Focus Taiwan, the CWA has indicated that northeasterly seasonal winds have weakened on Thursday, allowing temperatures in northern and northeastern Taiwan to rebound. Despite the temperature increase, moisture remains slightly elevated, leading to sporadic showers in mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan, as well as the outlying islands of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. The CWA has issued a strong wind advisory from Thursday morning through Friday night for Orchid Island and Green Island, Taoyuan, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Penghu, and Lienchiang County. The advisory warns of sustained winds of 41-51 kilometers per hour and gusts reaching up to 63-75 kilometers per hour. A weather front is anticipated to approach Taiwan on Friday, bringing brief showers to areas north of central Taiwan , the southeast, and offshore islands. Other regions are expected to experience partly cloudy to sunny skies with a chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms, as noted by the CWA. Meanwhile, independent meteorologist Wu Der-jong has stated that conditions over the next two days will be relatively stable and increasingly warm during the daytime. Wu mentioned that a frontal system is forecast to arrive on Saturday, bringing localized showers or thunderstorms and cooler temperatures in the north. Wu added that the front will weaken on Sunday, with easing rain and a slight temperature rise, though sporadic showers may continue in western Taiwan. Another front is expected to move southward on Tuesday, potentially bringing more showers and severe weather, before weakening on Wednesday.
