Taipei Military Conducts Aerial Rehearsal for National Day

Taipei:In preparation for the upcoming National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on October 10, military units conducted a half-scale aerial rehearsal over downtown Taipei on Wednesday morning. According to Focus Taiwan, the rehearsal included various aircraft formations, featuring the national flag, helicopters, slow-moving aircraft, fighter jets, and the Air Force Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team. The display took place over the Presidential Office between 7 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. The event began with the national flag formation, comprised of a UH-60M Black Hawk and a CH-47SD Chinook transport helicopter, which passed over at 7:05 a.m. This was followed by a helicopter formation at 7:20 a.m., including two AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, two AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters, two S-70C helicopters, and two UH-60M Black Hawks. Subsequently, at 7:23 a.m., a slow-moving formation of a P-3C maritime patrol aircraft and a C-130H transport aircraft flew by, followed by a fast-moving formation consisting of three Mirage 2000-5 fighters, three Indigenous Defense Fighters, and three F-16Vs. The rehearsal concluded with the Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team flying three Brave Eagle Advanced Jet Trainer aircraft at 7:40 a.m. The Ministry of National Defense advised Taipei residents not to be alarmed by the sound of aircraft engines, as past aerial displays have caused concerns. Two full-scale aerial rehearsals are scheduled for October 2 and October 5 from 6:05 a.m. to 7:40 a.m., as reported by the National Day Preparation Committee.
