Taiwan and Wyoming Forge Partnership on Nuclear Reactors and Carbon Capture


Taipei: Institutions from Taiwan and Wyoming have signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) on carbon capture and sequestration technologies and on small modular nuclear reactors, visiting Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon said Tuesday. Gordon made the announcement while meeting with President Lai Ching-te at the Presidential Office in Taipei.



According to Focus Taiwan, Gordon emphasized the potential of this partnership to provide energy that will support the growing artificial intelligence sector. He highlighted the importance of these technologies in meeting future energy demands. The collaboration offers Taiwan and Wyoming a chance to lead globally in carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration, demonstrating the feasibility of achieving net-zero emissions.



Gordon expressed anticipation for further economic cooperation, which would facilitate the development of infrastructure in Wyoming. This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing technological and environmental collaboration between Taiwan and Wyoming.
