Taiwan Expresses Solidarity with Australia and Jewish Community After Sydney Shooting


Sydney: Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te has expressed solidarity with the people of Australia and the Jewish community following a tragic mass shooting at a Hanukkah event in Sydney. President Lai conveyed his condolences on Monday, emphasizing Taiwan’s support during this challenging period.

According to Focus Taiwan, President Lai Ching-te stated, “I extend my deepest condolences to the victims and all those affected by the horrific attack at Bondi Beach,” through a post on the social media platform X. He further articulated Taiwan’s strong condemnation of all acts of terrorism and reiterated the nation’s support for Australia and the Jewish community.

The shooting occurred at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday and has resulted in at least 16 fatalities and 40 injuries as of Monday morning.
