Taiwan Lottery Boosts Dragon Boat Festival Jackpots with NT$800 Million Increase

Taipei: To boost sales and celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival, Taiwan Lottery announced on Tuesday it will raise the jackpots of several of its lotteries by a total of NT$800 million (US$25.43 million). According to Focus Taiwan, Taiwan Lottery President Hsieh Chih-hong stated that the popular Lotto 6/49 will be a key part of the promotional campaign. Starting from June 5, Lotto 6/49 will include 100 special draws along with its regular draws. The rules for these special draws will remain the same, with participants required to select six numbers from a pool of 49. Winners of these draws will receive NT$1 million or share the prize money with other winners. Hsieh mentioned that if no winners emerge in the special draws, they will continue until all 100 NT$1 million prizes are awarded or until July 17. Regular Lotto 6/49 draws occur every Tuesday and Friday. Hsieh also highlighted enhancements to the BINGO BINGO game, where players bet on number characteristics every five minutes. From June 5 to Ju ly 5, prize money for the "super number" will increase from NT$1,200 to NT$1,500. Bets on small or big numbers, or odd or even numbers, will see prize increases from NT$150 to NT$175. Each BINGO BINGO bet is priced at NT$25. Additionally, the "39 Happy Lottery," a smaller-scale game related to Lotto 6/49, will offer increased prize money from June 22 to July 11. The prize for a two-number bet will rise from NT$1,125 to NT$1,500. This campaign coincides with the Dragon Boat Festival weekend, which starts on June 19.
