Taiwan Pavilion Captivates Attendees at Ho Chi Minh City Travel Expo


Ho chi minh city: The Taiwan pavilion, organized by Taiwan’s Tourism Administration, garnered significant interest at the International Travel Expo (ITE) held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City. The event, which took place from Thursday to Saturday, attracted local and international travel industry professionals eager to explore Taiwan’s offerings.



According to Focus Taiwan, the Taiwan pavilion featured a variety of activities, including stage performances, cultural experiences, and interactive games. These elements captured the attention of attendees and highlighted Taiwan’s unique appeal. Vietnamese tourism industry professionals noted an increasing interest in Taiwan among Vietnamese travelers, particularly for its scenic landscapes, diverse cuisine, and rich culture.



Qu?c T²ng, a Vietnamese who studied Chinese in Taiwan, expressed his admiration for Taiwanese attractions such as the National Palace Museum and the Ximending shopping and entertainment area in Taipei. He observed that more Vietnamese have developed an affinity for Taiwan recently, with Vietnam Airlines planning to introduce an additional scheduled flight to Taiwan in October.



Similarly, VSn shared her appreciation for Taiwanese cuisine, naming dishes like oyster omelets and milkfish soup as her favorites. She noted that Taiwan’s climate, places, and people are appealing to Vietnamese travelers, with many hoping to send their children to Taiwan for educational opportunities.



Data from Taiwan’s Tourism Administration indicates a resurgence in Vietnamese arrivals to Taiwan, reaching 370,000 in 2024, a number that matches pre-COVID levels. This trend underscores the growing connection between the two regions and the increasing popularity of Taiwan as a travel destination among Vietnamese tourists.
