Taipei--With the arrival of a lingering weather front Thursday night and Friday morning, rain is forecast across Taiwan starting Friday, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.
With the chance of torrential rain high Friday and Saturday, the bureau urged the public to be vigilant.
The arrival of a southwesterly airstream will end a spate of sunny weather Thursday, the CWB said, adding that southern Taiwan is already experiencing rain and central Taiwan will soon follow.
In northern Taiwan, brief showers or thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, but the temperature could still hit 34 degrees Celsius during the day.
The southwesterly airstream will leave on Sunday, but the weather front will continue to linger resulting in continued rainfall across the island on Monday, though it will not be as heavy as Friday and Saturday.
The weather will gradually become more stable starting next Tuesday, the CWB said.
