Train derailing causes delays for over 860 passengers: TRA

Taipei--A Chu-Kuang Express (???) train running from eastern to southern Taiwan derailed in Taitung, resulting in delays to train services that impacted more than 860 passengers, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) said on Tuesday. Officials added that the reason for the incident was under investigation but no one was injured.

The derailing involving Train 704 occurred in Taitung County en route to Xinzuoying in Kaohsiung at 12:17 p.m., the TRA said.

As of 3 p.m., passengers faced average delays of up to 75 minutes, according to the TRA, though repairs were made and normal service resumed at about 5:20 p.m.
