Hsinchu city: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) reported a substantial increase in the average annual compensation and benefits for its employees, reaching NT$3.57 million (US$116,770) in 2024. This reflects a 44.5 percent rise compared to 2020.
According to Focus Taiwan, TSMC’s 2024 sustainability report revealed that the company’s total expenditure on compensation and benefits grew from approximately NT$140.8 billion in 2020 to around NT$301.8 billion in 2024.
Taiwan’s leading company by market capitalization highlighted that newly recruited engineers with master’s degrees, working at its Taiwan facilities and Visera Technologies Co. Ltd., a company predominantly controlled by TSMC, received an average total compensation of over NT$2 million in 2024.
TSMC, recognized as the world’s largest contract chipmaker, stated that its production and manufacturing employees earned an average total compensation exceeding NT$1 million. Additionally, the monthly income of these employees was more than four times the basic wage in Taiwan.
