Taipei: Taiwanese airlines, along with train and ferry operators, are set to cancel services on Friday and Saturday due to the impending Typhoon Usagi, which is anticipated to have its most significant impact on Taiwan during these days. On Thursday, Mandarin Airlines and UNI Air announced the cancellation of several flights between Taipei Songshan Airport and Taitung Airport in southeastern Taiwan. The typhoon is expected to make landfall in the southern county of Pingtung early Saturday. According to Focus Taiwan, Mandarin Airlines will cancel flights AE-395 and AE-396 on Friday, while UNI Air will suspend flights B7-8727, B7-8728, B7-8729, and B7-8730. In addition, the Pingtung County government stated on Thursday that ferry services operated by five companies to and from Liuqiu Islet will cease operations starting noon on Friday. This decision follows the land warning issued for Usagi at 5:30 p.m. by the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
